Ariel50-350cc

Ariel References A3, A4 and A5 bearings are identical except, that the former has no oil ways in the crankpin , and the second only one, while the A5 is drilled at each end. Although it is preferable to use the exact type, it is permissible to substitute A5. The following may assist in the identification of correct bearing. Every machine from 1928, including the 350cc Red Hunter, but excluding the 500cc Red Hunter, fits the standard taper type bearing (A5). The 500cc Red Hunters fit A6 (¹⁵/₁₆" shank) up to 1937 and A7 (1" shank) from 1937 onwards.
